Coming up
For the past six months we've been experimenting with methods. Now we'll begin publishing these and bringing activists together to discuss what community-based practice might look like.
In the next few weeks, we'll begin uploading workshop templates and reflection pieces on work with community centres.
Our goal is to stimulate practical and theoretical discussions amongst digital security activists, particularly those involved in activist affinity groups, about how their understanding of digital technology, security practice and political analysis can be useful to community organisations facing myriad threats.
As part of this, we'll publish some perspectives on popular digital security education that we have found helpful to orient our work and collaborations. In particular, we think a lot about the nature of the threats we face, different ways of thinking about security, the challenge of fear, different approaches to pedagogy, and what valuable roles movement activists may play in all of this.
It remains, and always will remain, an open question how communities and movement activists can work together to face digitised threats, and we hope to contribute to and stimulate praxis: practice informed by critical thought, observation, reflection and ideas.
